I love reading everyone's post! I have also had opportunities to share the scripture I am learning and to use it to help me refocus when things felt out of control. I now have two scripture spirals, they have the same verses in them, only one is at school on my desk and the other is at home. Having them handy is necessary in helping me in my memorization and in keeping my thoughts focused. I have also begun writing some scriptures in the back of the spiral that have spoken to me in some way. Eventually they might make it to the front for memorization, but I wanted to keep them close for pondering and studying!
On a side note, I have not sent out reminders to everyone because my group email includes 32 people who wanted to participate. Our servers are down and we cannot access that account at this time, and maybe not for several more days. If you know someone who is memorizing scripture with us, please remind them that it is time to add a scripture! I will send out a reminder when we do get back online!

To me this says it all about the past, present, and future. I have always liked the fact that everyone encompasses the essence of Christ and His works. I see Him in everyone and everything. Even when I am having maddening health problems, He is there, carrying me and sustaining me on a daily basis.

Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
This is our Bible Study verse for the current chapter I am working on. It talks of forgiveness! This verse reminds me of the hurt and betrayal Jesus went through and yet he still forgave! He modeled forgiveness for us so there would be no question as to how we are to forgive. Sometimes we have to rely on His strength to get us through to a point of being able to forgive, but we are commanded to do just that. Hebrews 12:15 describes unforgiveness as a bitter root that can take hold of our hearts. This verse tells me I have to put forth the effort to forgive, and let Jesus heal my wounds with his love and grace!

ReplyDeleteDon't bad thoughts just hound you sometimes? Worry, stewing about a disagreement, fear, feeling unworthy. They usually come during times I am alone, especially at night if I wake up at 2 in the morning! This verse reminds me I need to change my way of thinking and purposefully decide to think godly thoughts. I know God will miraculously honor my efforts!
This reminds me of a quote by Van Gogh: "If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere." I believe that if you truly love God, you will find His essence everywhere. Thanks, Diana!
